Cookies Policy

This page lists the small set of cookies and similar storage technologies used on the Washbio website. We try to keep this list as short as possible — long enough to be honest, short enough that you can finish reading it before your tea cools.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a tiny text file placed on your device by a website so that the site can remember small pieces of information across visits. Modern browsers also offer a similar mechanism called local storage. We use a small amount of both.

2. Categories we use

Strictly necessary

  • session — a temporary identifier issued by our host so that a single visit can be reconstructed for security and load balancing. Expires when you close your browser.
  • mind_consent — a local-storage flag remembering that you have dismissed the cookie notice. Stays until you clear your site data.

Performance

  • aggregated logs — our server records anonymous visit counts and the pages requested. No cookie is set on your device for this; it is a server-side log only.

Third-party embeds

  • Google Maps — used on our contacts page so you can preview directions to the studio. Google sets its own cookies when the map is loaded, in line with its own privacy notice.
  • Google Fonts — used to deliver the two typefaces on this site. The request to Google's font CDN may include standard log information.

3. We do not use

We do not load advertising cookies. We do not run social tracking pixels. We do not stitch your visits across other websites.

4. Managing your preferences

You may clear cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings. Clearing the mind_consent entry will cause our cookie notice to reappear on your next visit.

If you would like the third-party embeds to load only on demand in the future, write to us through the contacts page and we will let you know when that option ships.

5. Browser controls

Most browsers — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari — let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or be prompted before each one is set. Browser vendors keep clear, regularly updated guides on this; we recommend reading the help page of the browser you currently use.

6. Changes

If we add a new category of cookies, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date refreshed. We will also re-display the cookie notice so you can review your choice.

7. Contact

Questions are welcome through the contacts page or by phone at +1 310-206-7503.
